Laura Wolvaardt kept South Africa’s hopes alive with a quick half-century in the Women’s ODI World Cup final against India at Navi Mumbai. Chasing 299, South Africa reached 100 for 2 after 18 overs. Wolvaardt reached her fifty off just 45 balls, hitting some brilliant shots. India, however, struck twice early — Tazmin Brits was run out by Amanjot Kaur for 23, and Anneke Bosch fell for a duck to Shree Charani. Earlier, India posted 298 for 7, powered by Shafali Verma’s 87 and Deepti Sharma’s unbeaten 58. The final remains evenly balanced. (PC: X)
