Following India women's cricket team's historic World Cup victory, former BCCI president N. Srinivasan's controversial 2017 comment has resurfaced. Former India captain Diana Edulji recalled that when Srinivasan became BCCI president in 2011, he told her, "If I had my way, I wouldn't let women's cricket happen. He hates women's cricket." Edulji criticized BCCI as a "male-chauvinist organisation" that never wanted women in cricket. India defeated South Africa by 52 runs on Sunday, with Shafali Verma scoring 87 and Deepti Sharma taking 5/39. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur addressed criticism, emphasizing the importance of staying balanced through both success and failure, maintaining team unity regardless of circumstances.
