A Bengaluru doctor, Mahendra Reddy, was arrested for killing his dermatologist wife, Dr Kruthika Reddy, using the anaesthetic drug Propofol. Weeks after the murder, police found that he sent chilling messages to several women saying, “I killed my wife for you,” through the payment app PhonePe. One of the women had earlier rejected his proposal. The death was first treated as natural until a forensic report confirmed the use of the restricted drug. Police later found Mahendra’s family had a criminal history that was hidden during his marriage to Kruthika. (PC: India Today)
