In the first phase of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections covering 121 constituencies and 3.75 crore eligible voters, the state recorded a provisional turnout of 64.66 % across 1,314 candidates. Voting took place at 45,341 polling stations, with 36,733 in rural areas. Major battles included Tejashwi Yadav in Raghopur, Samrat Chaudhary in Tarapur and Tej Pratap Yadav in Mahua under his new party. Polling was largely peaceful with minor incidents reported; the remaining 122 seats vote on November 11, with counting on November 14. (PC: PTI)
