Delhi's air quality crisis has reached alarming levels, with even air purifiers struggling against toxic pollution. A viral video shows a man cleaning his air purifier filter after days of use and it emerges completely black, clogged with thick dust and toxic particles. The clip sparked widespread concern, with users commenting "air purifier needs purification" and "soon warranties will auto-void if used in Delhi." Senior pulmonologist Dr. Gopi Chand Khilnani explained air purifiers require closed rooms and constant operation to be effective. WHO doesn't agree purifiers improve health, but Khilnani recommends them for elderly and chronically ill patients. He advises Delhi residents, particularly those with respiratory issues, to leave the city for six-eight weeks if affordable.
