Typhoon Fung-wong has moved into the South China Sea after hitting the Philippines, leaving two people dead. The storm made landfall in Aurora province on Sunday night with winds up to 185 km/h. Over 1.4 million people were evacuated before it struck. Power is still out in many areas, and several towns remain cut off by floods. Authorities say good preparation helped reduce casualties compared to last week’s deadly Typhoon Kalmaegi. Fung-wong is now expected to move toward Taiwan. The Philippines faces around 20 tropical storms each year, many made stronger by warmer oceans. (PC: BBC)
