A devastating explosion near Red Fort Metro Station on Monday left Delhi residents traumatized, killing eight and injuring several others. A local shopkeeper described never hearing "such a loud blast," stating he "fell three times" and felt "everyone was going to die." The explosion occurred in a car near Gate No. 1, spreading fire to 3-4 nearby vehicles. Seven fire tenders responded while Delhi Police Special Cell investigated. The blast's intensity shattered windows meters away and shook nearby buildings in the congested area. Auto driver Zeeshan, injured in the blast, reported the exploding car was a Swift Dzire just two feet ahead. The incident followed recovery of 360 kg suspected ammonium nitrate from Faridabad.
