Slow-Moving Car Stopped at Red Light, Then an Explosion: What Happened Near Delhi’s Red Fort

A Hyundai i20 exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort around 6:52 pm on Monday, killing eight people and injuring over twenty. The car, carrying three passengers, was moving slowly and stopped at a red light before it suddenly blew up. The blast damaged nearby vehicles and shattered streetlights. Police said the car had a Haryana number plate and was sold several times using fake papers. The first owner has been detained, and a Pulwama link is being investigated. Eyewitnesses said the explosion was so strong that cars were flung away. Delhi Police have placed the city on high alert.
