A car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening is being treated as a suspected terror attack. Investigators said a Hyundai i20 was packed with high-grade explosives and deliberately blown up near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station around 6:52 pm, killing eight people and injuring several others. Sources said the attack appears to be a fidayeen-style strike. The car was reportedly bought by Tariq, a resident of Pulwama, who is now in custody. Teams from the NIA and NSG confirmed the use of powerful explosives and are probing links to a Faridabad-based terror module. (PC: X)
