A devastating explosion near Red Fort Metro Station on Monday killed eight people, leaving locals traumatized. A shopkeeper described never hearing "such a loud blast," falling three times and feeling "everyone was going to die." The explosion occurred in a car near Gate No. 1, spreading fire to 3-4 nearby vehicles. Seven fire tenders responded while Delhi Police Special Cell investigated under high alert conditions. The blast's intensity shattered windows meters away and shook buildings in the congested area. Injured auto driver Zeeshan reported the exploding Swift Dzire car was just two feet ahead. The incident followed recovery of 360 kg suspected ammonium nitrate from a Kashmiri doctor's Faridabad accommodation, raising terror concerns.
