At least nine people were killed and over 20 injured after a car exploded near the Islamabad district court on Tuesday. The blast took place around 12:30 pm during busy hours, causing panic among lawyers and staff. Police suspect it was a suicide attack, though initial reports said a gas cylinder inside the car may have exploded. Several vehicles were damaged in the powerful blast, which was heard kilometres away. The attack came hours after Pakistani forces foiled a Taliban strike in Waziristan, and a day after a deadly car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort. (PC: BBC)
