The family of Dr Mohammad Umar, suspected in the Red Fort blast, said they were stunned by his alleged terror link. Umar, who worked at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was believed to be inside the Hyundai i20 car that exploded near Red Fort, killing nine people. His sister-in-law said he was a “bookworm” who urged others to study and had been the family’s “only hope” to escape poverty. Investigators believe Umar was part of a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Sources say he may have acted in panic after an associate’s arrest. (PC: India Today)
