The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Gale Warning for Lake Michigan’s shoreline from St Joseph to Manistee, Michigan, effective from 1 PM to 10 PM EST on November 11. Forecasters predict strong southwest winds of 20 to 30 knots, with gusts up to 40 knots and waves reaching 6 to 11 feet. The NWS has urged mariners and tourists to stay away from the water and avoid boating or water activities. Small boats are at the highest risk of capsizing.
