An initial probe into the Red Fort blast in Delhi suggests the explosion was accidental, caused by panic while suspects were transporting an unfinished improvised explosive device (IED), sources said. The blast killed nine people and injured several others. Investigators believe recent nationwide raids and the recovery of 2,900 kg of bomb-making chemicals in Haryana’s Faridabad may have triggered fear among the suspects. The IED was improperly assembled, which limited its impact. Officials found no crater or projectiles at the site, supporting the accidental blast theory. The main suspect, Dr Umar Nabi from Jammu and Kashmir, had gone missing three days earlier. (PC: NDTV)
