In a major crackdown in the district of Kulgam, south Kashmir, the Kulgam Police carried out raids at over 200 locations targeting homes and premises linked to the banned Jamaat‑e‑Islami (JeI) and their associates. Over the past four days, more than 400 cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) have been conducted across the district, leading to the interrogation of around 500 individuals connected to JeI, OGWs and other banned outfits. During the raids, digital devices and incriminating material were seized, and several JeI members were bound down and shifted to District Jail Mattan under preventive laws to disrupt the grassroots support network of terrorism.
