The Sopore native once headed the Doctors Association Kashmir and was a close aide to separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. In 2023, Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha terminated him from GMC Srinagar over suspected terror connections. While some reports claim he's missing post-blast, Al Falah Trust denies this, though security agencies say he's absconding. His daughter has been detained for questioning.
