Dr. Shaheen Shahid's ex-husband, ophthalmologist Dr. Zafar Hayat, expressed shock over her arrest in the Red Fort terror module investigation. The former couple married in 2003 at Kanpur's GSVM Medical College and had two children before divorcing in 2015. Dr. Hayat described Shaheen as calm, never discussing religion or ideology, and deeply focused on studies. Their main disagreement was her desire to move abroad versus his preference for India. She suddenly left the family and never contacted them afterward. Investigators allege Shaheen, 43, was living with key accused Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie in Faridabad.
