National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has surpassed both exit-poll forecasts and Amit Shah’s own prediction of 160-180 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly elections, according to early figures from the Election Commission of India. The alliance was leading on over 180 seats shortly after counting began, significantly outperforming the upper range of most projections that stretched to 172 seats. Meanwhile the opposition Mahagathbandhan alliance lagged behind, struggling to cross even 60 seats in initial trends. (PC: PTI)
