Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has claimed that the Bihar government diverted a ₹14,000-crore World Bank loan to fund election-time freebies. Party president Uday Singh said the Nitish Kumar government spent nearly ₹40,000 crore since June to influence voters. He said cash transfers to women under welfare schemes continued even a day before voting. Pavan Verma also alleged that money meant for other projects was used for payouts. The NDA has not responded to the claims. The NDA won 202 seats in the Bihar polls, while the Mahagathbandhan suffered a major defeat with only 35 seats. (PC: NDTV)
