A post by Assam Minister Ashok Singhal has sparked a huge row after he celebrated the NDA’s big win in Bihar with an image of a cauliflower field. The phrase “gobi farming” is linked to the 1989 Bhagalpur massacre, where many Muslims were killed and later buried under cauliflower crops. Critics said the post was insensitive and dangerous. Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi and Mohammad Jawed called it “vulgar” and “shameful”. Lawyer Sanjay Hegde said it was an “incitement to violence”. Despite the backlash, the minister has not deleted the post. Political leaders across parties have strongly condemned it. (PC: X/@TheAshokSinghal)
