Cold Arctic air has swept into the UK, bringing snow, ice and health alerts for large parts of the country. The Met Office says Scotland and northern England will see the most snow, with up to 20cm possible on higher ground. The UK Health Security Agency has issued amber cold-health alerts for the North West and North East, warning of risks to older people and those with health problems. The Midlands and southern areas are under yellow alerts. Travel delays, power cuts and icy roads are likely. Temperatures may fall as low as -7°C, with harsh frosts expected through the week. (PC: X)
