Prashant Kishor has issued a sharp challenge to Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar after his party’s major defeat in the state elections. Kishor said he would quit politics if the government fulfils its promise of giving ₹2 lakh each to 1.5 crore women. He also repeated his earlier claim that JD(U) would not have crossed 25 seats without “buying votes”. JD(U) won 85 seats, while Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party failed to win any. Kishor accepted responsibility for the loss but said he would rebuild and continue his movement. The new NDA government will take office on November 20. (PC: HT)
