The wedding of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, originally slated for Sunday in Mandhana’s hometown in Maharashtra, has been indefinitely postponed after Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, fell ill and was rushed to hospital. Mandhana’s manager revealed the 27-year-old athlete chose not to proceed with the ceremony amid the medical emergency. The couple had already commenced wedding rituals—Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet— and even organised a playful bride-vs-groom cricket match for guests. All plans are now on hold until her father recovers.
