The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has said it will not ban countries from competing for starting wars, after members voted to lift the partial suspension on Russia and Belarus. The UK and 32 other mainly European nations expressed “serious concern” over the decision. IPC president Andrew Parsons told Sky News that the ban was lifted because there was no new evidence that Russia or Belarus were using Paralympic sport to promote the Ukraine war. He said launching a war is not a breach of the IPC constitution. Russia and Belarus will still miss next year’s Winter Paralympics due to other sports bans. (PC: Reuters)
