Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the “new India” neither fears nor bows down to terrorism. He spoke at an event in Kurukshetra marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Modi said India wants peace but will not compromise on security. He cited Operation Sindoor as an example. India launched the operation on May 7 after the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people. Indian forces struck terror and military targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The clashes continued for three days before a ceasefire on May 10.
