The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) schedule by seven days in 12 states and Union Territories, citing administrative and logistical delays. The enumeration period now ends on 11 December 2025 (earlier 4 December), and the draft electoral rolls will be published on 16 December instead of 9. Claims and objections can be filed between 16 December 2025 and 15 January 2026, with the final electoral roll now set to be published on 14 February 2026. (PC: AFP)
