Satadru Dutta, organiser of Lionel Messi’s GOAT Tour of India, was denied bail on Sunday and sent to police custody for 14 days. The decision came a day after chaos at Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium. Messi, along with Luis Suarez and Rodrigo de Paul, attended the event on Saturday. Angry fans turned violent after failing to see the players. Parts of the stadium were damaged. West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited the venue and blamed poor crowd control. He called it a dark day for sports fans. A high-level panel has begun an inquiry into the incident on Sunday.
