Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Sunday described the Bondi Beach shooting in Sydney as a “devastating terror attack”. He said the Jewish community was deliberately targeted during a Hanukkah event in Australia. At least 11 people were killed when two gunmen opened fire on the crowd. One attacker was shot dead by police, while the other was arrested. “There is no place for this hate, violence and terrorism in our nation,” Albanese said. He praised civilians who rushed to help victims. New South Wales police declared the incident a terrorist attack and said an explosive device was found in a linked vehicle.
