The FBI announced it disrupted a planned New Year’s Eve attack in Mint Hill, North Carolina, arresting 18-year-old Christian Sturdivant, who officials say was inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS) and pledged loyalty to the extremist group. Sturdivant was charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization after allegedly communicating his plans to undercover agents posing as ISIS associates. Authorities found a handwritten “New Years Attack 2026” plan and weapons at his home. The suspected target locations included a grocery store and fast-food restaurant, and the plot was prevented before any violence occurred. (PC: AP)
