Denmark’s world No. 2 Anders Antonsen said he skipped the India Open in Delhi due to severe air pollution. In a social media post, he said Delhi was not fit to host a badminton event in its current condition. He added that the Badminton World Federation fined him $5,000 for withdrawing. This is the third year in a row he has missed the tournament. His remarks followed comments by compatriot Mia Blichfeldt, who raised hygiene concerns about training areas, including dust and bird droppings.
