In Greater Noida’s Sector 150, 27‑year‑old software engineer Yuvraj Mehta tragically drowned after his SUV broke through a roadside boundary and fell into a deep, water‑filled construction pit amid dense fog early Sunday, police and family said. Mehta called his father, saying “Papa, I am stuck”, but rescue efforts were hampered by poor visibility, lack of reflectors on the road and delays in reaching him. Emergency teams including police, fire services and disaster response units worked for hours but could not save him. Eyewitnesses and residents criticised the delayed response and raised safety concerns about the unprotected site. An FIR has now been filed in the case. (PC: NDTV)
