An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Kishtwar on Sunday. The gunfight started during a cordon and search operation in Sonnar village of the Chatroo area. Officials said three Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists are likely trapped. The operation is being carried out jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Intermittent firing is ongoing and grenades were also lobbed at security personnel. Reinforcements have been rushed to the area. No official confirmation of casualties has been made so far. Operations are continuing under challenging terrain and weather conditions. (PC: PTI)
