US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose 200% tariffs on French wine and champagne amid tensions with France. The warning followed reports that Paris may reject Trump’s invitation to join a proposed “Board of Peace”. Trump also posted a private message from French President Emmanuel Macron, in which Macron questioned Trump’s focus on Greenland. The dispute grew after France mocked comments by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Arctic security.
