Dimona, known as Israel’s “Little India”, was hit by Iranian missile strikes that injured 33 people. The city lies close to a key nuclear site in southern Israel.   The town has a 7,500-strong Indian-Jewish community. Shops sell chaat, jalebi and other Indian snacks. Marathi and Hindi are commonly heard.   Many residents trace roots to Maharashtra, Kerala and Kolkata. Immigration mainly took place in the 1950s and 1960s, the Indian embassy said.   Israel’s military said some missiles were not intercepted. Iran said the strike followed an earlier attack on its Natanz site, calling it a “new phase of the battle.” (PC: NDTV)
