Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s warning to strike a deal within 48 hours or face military action. A senior Iranian commander called the ultimatum “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid”. He warned that any attack on Iran would lead to “devastating and continuous” strikes on US and Israeli targets. Another Iranian official said a “big surprise” is planned and claimed US threats were “laughable”. Trump had warned that “all hell will rain down” if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
