A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran was reached after intense late-night talks led by Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, army chief Asim Munir, and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held quick calls with global leaders. They spoke with US President Donald Trump, Vice-President JD Vance, and Iranian officials. Pakistan proposed a 15-day pause and talks in Islamabad on April 10. Iran agreed to allow safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. China also supported the plan in the final hours, helping both sides agree.
