India has expressed deep concern over rising civilian casualties in Lebanon following recent strikes by Israel that reportedly killed over 250 people. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal termed the developments “very disturbing,” emphasising the urgent need to protect civilians. Highlighting India’s role in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, he noted India’s continued commitment to Lebanon’s peace and stability. Reiterating its stance, India called for adherence to international law and respect for sovereignty. The government also confirmed that measures are underway to ensure the safety and welfare of Indian nationals amid escalating regional tensions. (PC: PTI)
