Donald Trump shared a surveillance video showing a suspect charging a security checkpoint at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington DC. The video shows the man running past metal detectors as security officers draw their weapons. Police said the suspect was a “lone gunman” and was carrying multiple weapons. Washington DC police chief Jeffrey W Carroll said officers exchanged gunfire with him. A US Secret Service officer was “struck in his vest” and taken to hospital. He is in “good spirits”. The suspect was not hit but was taken to hospital for evaluation.
