Two FIRs have been registered against Sandeep Pathak in Punjab days after he left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The cases are reportedly filed under non-bailable sections, raising the possibility of arrest, though the exact charges remain unclear. There has been no official confirmation from Punjab Police yet. Pathak denied knowledge of any FIR, saying he was unaware of such cases. The BJP has strongly criticised the move, calling it “vendetta politics” and accusing the AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann of misusing state machinery to target political opponents. The development comes amid a major political shift, with several AAP Rajya Sabha MPs recently defecting to the BJP. (PC: PTI)
