Trump Says US-Iran Agreement ‘Largely Negotiated’, Final Talks Still Underway

US President Donald Trump has claimed that a major agreement between the United States and Iran has been “largely negotiated,” with only final details remaining before formalisation. The proposed deal reportedly includes reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz and broader discussions on Iran’s nuclear programme and regional security. Trump said discussions with Middle Eastern leaders and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were “productive.” However, Iran pushed back against parts of Trump’s announcement, insisting it would retain control over the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan has reportedly played a key mediation role in the negotiations amid continuing regional tensions and fears of renewed conflict.
