14-year-old Indian-American student Shrey Parikh has won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in the United States. The California teenager claimed the title after three days of competition in Washington, DC. In the final spell-off round, he correctly spelled 32 words in 90 seconds, defeating 12-year-old Ishaan Gupta. This was Shrey's third appearance at the national contest. He said years of hard work and regular practice helped him achieve his goal. Shrey's parents praised his dedication and discipline.
