The main accused, Asad, was killed during a police encounter in the early hours of Sunday after allegedly opening fire on a police team attempting to arrest him. Police said Asad sustained injuries in the exchange of fire and later died during treatment at a hospital. He was wanted for the stabbing death of Class 11 student Surya Chauhan, whose killing had sparked outrage and heightened tensions in the area.
