Hundreds Arrested, Dozens of Police Officers Injured After Champions League Riots in France

Violence broke out across France after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won the UEFA Champions League. Authorities said 780 people were arrested and 219 were injured during clashes between fans and police.   French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said, "We allow freedom of assembly, but not excesses." He added that security forces would be firm in dealing with troublemakers.   Police reported that 57 officers were injured. Cars and bikes were set on fire, shops were damaged, and transport services were disrupted in Paris.   One person died in a road accident near the city ring road, while a teenager was left in critical condition after a fight.
