A 19-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh's Mauganj district died by suicide after reportedly falling into depression following the cancellation of the NEET-UG exam amid the paper leak controversy. Akanksha Chaturvedi had appeared for the exam on May 3 and was expecting to score around 650 marks, according to her family. The National Testing Agency cancelled the exam on May 12 and announced a re-test on June 21. In a suicide note, Akanksha wrote that she did not have the courage to take the examination again and was uncertain about her future performance. Her family said they had taken loans and made financial sacrifices to support her dream of becoming a doctor. The incident has renewed concerns over the emotional impact of the NEET paper leak controversy on students. (PC: India Today)
