At least 15 people were killed and 129 injured after a powerful 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of General Santos City on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Monday. The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, triggering tsunami warnings across parts of the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, most of which were later lifted. Buildings suffered damage in several affected areas as emergency teams launched rescue and relief operations.
