6.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of western Cuba late on Monday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The quake occurred about 118 kilometres west-northwest of Mantua at a depth of 33 kilometres. Tremors were also felt across parts of Southwest Florida. Authorities said there were no immediate reports of deaths, injuries or major damage. No tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake. Officials are continuing to monitor the situation and assess any possible impact. The quake comes just hours after a powerful earthquake in the Philippines caused widespread damage and loss of life.
