Former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen, his wife Madhuchhanda Sen and three officials of the Mahanirban Road Mass Art Society (MassArt) have been named in a police complaint alleging misuse of UNESCO's name and public funds linked to Durga Puja events. The complaint, filed with Kolkata Police, claims the organisation falsely projected itself as UNESCO's official partner and sold paid "Preview Show" tickets for selected puja pandals between 2022 and 2024. The complainant alleged that the scheme restricted public access to traditionally free celebrations and hurt religious sentiments. The accused have been asked to face legal action. MassArt has not issued an official statement, while reports said its functionaries have denied wrongdoing. (PC: The Indian Express)
