The West Bengal CID on Tuesday visited former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Kalighat residence, which also serves as the Trinamool Congress headquarters, and Abhishek Banerjee's office as part of its probe into the alleged forgery of TMC MLAs' signatures. The investigation is linked to a proposal submitted to the Assembly Speaker seeking recognition of the Leader of Opposition. CID officials said the visits were based on Abhishek Banerjee's statement that the signatures were collected at the party's central office.
