Monsoon rains finally reached Mumbai on Sunday, bringing relief after weeks of hot weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said rain is expected across Maharashtra over the next week. Yellow alerts have been issued for Mumbai, Thane and several other districts due to possible thunderstorms. An orange alert is in place for parts of Vidarbha. Heatwave warnings remain active in Akola, Washim and Amravati. Pune is expected to receive light rain and thunderstorms in the coming days. The IMD said temperatures are likely to fall and monsoon activity could become stronger after June 25.
