Mumbai received moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday morning, bringing relief from hot and humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said rainfall activity will increase from Monday, and the southwest monsoon is expected to reach the city by June 23. Several areas recorded heavy showers, causing waterlogging and traffic problems. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued an orange alert and advised residents to stay cautious during thunderstorms and heavy rain. Gusty winds of up to 40 kmph are also expected. Bandra, Worli and Khar were among the areas that received the highest rainfall in the city. (PC: HT)
